Eric Davis and Darryl Strawberry visited each other Sunday July 23, 2006 to shoot a segment for the upcoming DVD “Hitting from the Heart”. These two have been best friends all their lives and have had many similar challenges including colon cancer. They had a blast catching up and HFTH Productions captured it all. The Segment is tentatively titled “THE COMEBACK KIDS” Eric Davis and Darryl Strawberry One on One. Eric and Darryl spoke for hours about the early days in L.A., the minors, both their World Series Championships, and their amazing bout’s with colon cancer. During the all day event both Eric and Darryl sat down to sign some great duo items for the Hitting from the Heart website. Eric visited PETCO Park in San Diego for the Strike Out Cancer event. Eric was on hand to talk about cancer education and prevention. He delighted all fans and spectators with his inspirational message. Hitting From the Heart Productions was on hand to film this event for a bonus feature in the upcoming dvd. If you’re an Eric Davis fan, today is your day; you must be a fan if you’re here. Eric will be having a mail-in signing. This is your chance to have anything from your collection signed by Eric. Each item will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Eric Davis and HFTH Productions. The signing will be on July 10, 2006. The deadline for receiving items will be July 5, 2006. The first 25 fans who send in their items will receive 15 different (rookies – inserts – special issues) Eric Davis cards with their signed item(s). Many of these cards will be signed by Eric.

The DVD progress is right on track with us preparing for the “Eric Davis Time and Again” segment which will be shot in Los Angeles in the beginning of June. Check back for some photos from the set.

A big hit for Hitting from the Heart Productions today. Upperdeck and Topps just granted us permission to use their designs in the DVD and other applications. This will be very cool in our “Eric Davis Stats” bonus feature segment. The Hitting from the Heart DVD will have a special retro card with Davis’ stats from each year of his career, including his first 5 seasons in the minors. This will be such a great feature for the DVD. Look for some cool sneak peaks of these cards right here.

Eric just did a very large signing to benefit Hitting from the Heart Productions and The Eric Davis Foundation. So many great items from stunning 8x10’s with rare inscriptions to custom Louisville Slugger bats. Just completed a photo shoot with Eric and many of his personal items for our “Eric Davis Time and Again” segment. The instruction outline for hitting is also nearing completion as Eric continues working on elements such as; recognizing the pitch, proper stance, body movement, and follow through. This will be a great DVD.

Eric has been at work preparing for the DVD. He’s also been busy promoting his website and foundation. Eric just completed an extensive interview for Sports Collectors Digest. Davis spoke about his career, journey through cancer, collecting, and the upcoming DVD. Check back for a date to find this SCD on the newsstands. Eric is set for a busy month. Eric Davis just had a great meeting with his former team the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers will help support and promote the “Hitting from the Heart” DVD. Work continues on the DVD, Hitting from the Heart. Eric gives the production almost 40 hours of highlights and clips from his impressive career. This incredible reel of footage includes everything from towering homeruns and exciting over-the-wall catches, to swift base stealing and memorable milestones. This collection is the most comprehensive of anything ever involving Eric Davis. No doubt this amazing footage will make it on to the DVD in some type of highlight reel.

Eric Davis is excited about the new DVD while he works on the outline for the baseball skills segment. Davis plans a comprehensive sketch to explain hitting. Eric returns from spring training. His visit included a trip to Florida to see his former team the Cincinnati Reds. He lends great inspiration to many who meet him and sees fans he’s known for almost 20 years. The Cincinnati Reds donated Davis uniforms from the 1990 World Series, 1985 Rookie season, and current uniforms made just for Davis and Hitting from the Heart Productions. The Cincinnati Reds wish Davis luck and give him unconditional support for his new DVD.

Eric Davis opens his impressive collection of trophies, awards, and memorabilia. These treasures will be on display throughout www.hittingfromtheheart.com website and will be used in the DVD “Hitting from the Heart”. Works begins on the Hitting from the Heart DVD. Special feature segment, “Eric Davis Time and Again”, will be narrated by Davis and highlight his entire life in and out of baseball. HFTH Productions begins research and writing a script with Eric Davis. This segment will display the strength and courage that made Eric Davis the incredible athlete many loved. Sponsorship of the DVD begins with a bang. Mitchell and Ness donate every Eric Davis 1990 WS jersey they have in their inventory. A giant collection of Baseball images (Eric Davis photos) have been donated to Hitting from the Heart Productions. Renowned sports photographer Mitch Haddad opens his entire collection for use in the DVD and sales benefiting the Eric Davis Foundation.
